SR140 Antibody (E-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects SR140 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). SR140 (E-3) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. SR140, also known as U2-associated SR140 protein or 140 kDa Ser/Arg-rich domain protein, plays a crucial role in pre-mRNA splicing by acting as a splicing enhancer. SR140 contains specific binding sites for serine/arginine-rich splicing factors, which are essential for accurate recognition of splice sites and regulation of alternative splicing. SR140 is composed of 1,029 amino acids and features a CID domain, an RNA recognition motif (RRM) domain, and a SURP motif repeat, highlighting a complex structure vital for function. SR140 is expressed as three alternatively spliced isoforms and is encoded by a gene located on human chromosome 3, underscoring importance in gene expression regulation.
