QUICK LINKS

Spiraeoside, also known as quercetin-4′-O-glucoside, is a flavonoid glycoside. It enhances the antioxidant capacity of blood plasma. By exerting antioxidant activity, it inhibits reactive oxygen species (ROS) and malondialdehyde production. The presence of spiraeoside in plants plays a role in their defense mechanisms against environmental stressors such as UV radiation, pests, and diseases. This compound is part of the plant′s natural arsenal for protecting against oxidative damage and supporting overall plant health and resilience. Its antioxidant activity helps in scavenging free radicals, thereby reducing oxidative stress within the plant cells.
