Spiperone hydrochloride is an analogue of Spiperone. Spiperone (sc-204293) is an SR-2A and selective D2DR inhibitor (Ki values are 0.06, 0.6, 0.08, ~ 350, ~ 3500 nM for D2DR, D3DR, D4DR, D1DR, and D5DR respectively). Although the well known role of Spiperone in research studies indicates it acts as an inhibitor of either SR-2 or D2DR, Spiperone has also been reported to act through a protein tyrosine kinase-coupled phospholipase CO-dependent pathway. Spiperone was observed to act independent of either SR-2 or D2DR as reported In a study investigating the role of Spiperone and Ca2+ activated Cl- (CaCC) in human cystic fibrosis (CF) airway epithelial cell monolayers in vitro. Spiperone hydrochloride is an inhibitor of alpha1B-AR.
