SEE ALSO...

Sox-18 Antibody (D-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Sox-18 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Sox-18 (D-8) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Sox-18 protein, a 384 amino acid nuclear protein, plays a crucial role in the regulation of gene expression during development, particularly in the formation of blood vessels and hair follicles. Sox-18 influences the differentiation of various cell types, thereby impacting processes such as angiogenesis and organogenesis. Sox-18 belongs to the Sox family of transcription factors, which are characterized by the presence of a high mobility group (HMG) box domain that facilitates specific binding to DNA. This interaction is essential for the transcriptional regulation of target genes involved in developmental pathways. Conservation of Sox genes throughout evolution underscores their importance in developmental biology, and dysregulation of Sox-18 has been implicated in various human diseases, including sex reversal and certain cancers. Using anti-Sox-18 antibody (D-8) in research can provide insights into the critical roles that this transcription factor plays in cellular differentiation and development.

Is it no difference with sc-166025 HRP and sc-166025 for WB?

Asked by: Student1234
Thank you for your question. Both the unconjugated and the HRP-conjugated versions of this antibody recognize the same epitope. HRP-conjugated antibodies do not require a secondary antibody and as such they generally produce less unspecific background and allow for a more efficient experimental setup.

Hi there! Is it possible to access particular batches of this antibody? Thanks!

Asked by: FFontaine
Thank you for your question. We typically offer only one batch/lot of an antibody at a time. Once that lot of a product is out of stock, a new one will be generated, and we are no longer able to provide a previous lot.

When should the TransCruz reagent sc-166025 X be used instead of the standard form sc-166025?

Asked by: AbPolly
Thank you for your question. We recommend using the TransCruz reagent form when performing ChIP or GelShift assays. This form can also be used in other applications such as Western Blot or IHC, but the dilution should be adjusted by a factor of 10 to account for the higher original concentration.
