SEE ALSO...

SnoN Antibody (B-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects SnoN protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-SnoN antibody (B-3) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. SnoN protein, a member of the Ski family of oncogenes, plays a crucial role in regulating TGFβ signaling pathways, which are essential for controlling cell growth and differentiation. SnoN functions primarily as a transcriptional repressor, inhibiting the activity of Smad proteins, which are key mediators of TGFβ signaling. By binding to the MH2 domain of Smad2 and Smad4, SnoN recruits the transcriptional co-repressor N-CoR, effectively blocking the transcription of target genes that promote cell proliferation and extracellular matrix production. Regulation of SnoN is vital, as TGFβ signaling can lead to degradation, thereby allowing for the activation of Smad-dependent transcription and promoting cellular responses to TGFβ. Understanding the dynamics of SnoN and interactions with Smad proteins is important for elucidating the mechanisms of TGFβ-mediated cellular processes and their implications in various diseases, including cancer.

When should the TransCruz reagent sc-136958 X be used instead of the standard form sc-136958?

Asked by: Cweed
Thank you for your question. We recommend using the TransCruz reagent form when performing ChIP or GelShift assays. This form can also be used in other applications such as Western Blot or IHC, but the dilution should be adjusted by a factor of 10 to account for the higher original concentration.
