Snapin Antibody (E-10) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Snapin of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Snapin (E-10) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Snapin plays a crucial role in the biogenesis of lysosome-related organelles complex-1 (BLOC-1), a multisubunit complex essential for the formation of specialized organelles within the endosomal-lysosomal system, such as melanosomes and platelet-dense granules. This complex comprises several coiled-coil-forming proteins, including Snapin, Pallidin, Cappuccino, Muted, BLOS1, BLOS2, and BLOS3, which exhibit varied localization, being cytoplasmic, peripheral membrane-bound, or anchored to vesicular membranes. Notably, Snapin associates with the SNARE complex in neurons, and phosphorylation enhances interaction with SNAP25, thereby influencing exocytotic protein interactions. Additionally, Snapin interacts with the N-terminus of regulator of G protein signaling 7 (RGS7), a critical player in synaptic vesicle exocytosis, highlighting Snapin′s importance in neuronal communication and signaling pathways.
