SMYD4 Antibody (Ac-10) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects SMYD4 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB). Anti-SMYD4 antibody (Ac-10) is available as a non-conjugated format. The SMYD (SET and MYND domain-containing) family of proteins, which includes SMYD1, SMYD2, SMYD3, and SMYD4, plays a crucial role in transcriptional regulation and interacts with the HDAC family of histone deacetylases, thereby influencing gene expression and cellular processes. SMYD4, also referred to as ZMYND21, is an 804 amino acid protein characterized by one SET domain and one MYND-type zinc finger, which are essential for mediating protein-protein interactions and transcriptional regulation. The SET domain is particularly important in histone methylation, a key post-translational modification that can alter chromatin structure and accessibility, ultimately affecting gene expression. SMYD4 dysregulation has been implicated in various diseases, including cancer, making SMYD4 a significant target for therapeutic intervention.
