Smuc Antibody (E-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgM antibody that detects Smuc protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-Smuc antibody (E-3) is available as the non-conjugated form. Smuc (E-3) antibody recognizes a member of the Snail family of developmental regulatory proteins, which plays a crucial role in transcriptional regulation and is characterized by five putative DNA-binding zinc finger domains located at the C-terminal region. This structural feature allows Smuc to preferentially bind to specific E-box motifs, such as CAGGTG and CACCTG, thereby influencing gene expression patterns essential for cellular processes. Smuc (E-3) monoclonal antibody targets a protein highly expressed in skeletal muscle and thymus tissues, where Smuc contributes to the repression of gene transcription, a function vital for maintaining tissue identity and function. Smuc′s ability to modulate gene expression is particularly important in muscle development and immune response, highlighting potential implications in various biological processes and diseases.

What application is the blocking peptide sc-390438 P appropriate for?

Asked by: Randy McDonald
Thank you for your question. The blocking peptide is intended for use as a negative control, by pre-adsorbing the mouse monoclonal antibody against the antigen. For full protocol details, please contact our Technical Services Department or view our online protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/peptide-neutralization
