SFRS17A Antibody (FE-06) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects SFRS17A protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-SFRS17A antibody (FE-06) is available as a non-conjugated format. SFRS17A protein, also known as splicing factor, arginine/serine-rich 17A, XE7, 721P, XE7Y, CCDC133, CXYorf3, or DXYS155E, is a 695 amino acid protein characterized by the presence of one RNA recognition motif (RRM) domain, which is crucial for RNA processing. SFRS17A predominantly localizes to nuclear speckles, which are essential for the assembly and modification of spliceosomal components. SFRS17A is widely expressed across various tissues, with highest levels found in lung, heart, brain, liver, kidney, pancreas, skeletal muscle, placenta, and activated B-cells. As a vital subunit of the spliceosome, SFRS17A plays a significant role in regulating alternative splice site selection for diverse mRNA precursors, thereby influencing gene expression and protein diversity. Additionally, SFRS17A can function as a monomer, interacting with other proteins such as ZNF265 and SF2/ASF, both integral to pre-mRNA splicing and transcriptional regulation. Notably, due to alternative splicing events, SFRS17A is expressed in three different isoforms, further underscoring its complexity and importance in cellular processes.
