SERGEF Antibody (H-12) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects SERGEF protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). SERGEF (H-12) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. SERGEF, also known as secretion-regulating guanine nucleotide exchange factor or DelGEF, plays a crucial role in regulating secretion pathways by acting as a guanine nucleotide exchange factor. SERGEF is essential for proper functioning of cellular secretion mechanisms, as SERGEF interacts with Sec5, a key protein required for secretion, in a magnesium-dependent manner and is activated by deoxycytidine triphosphate or guanosine triphosphate. SERGEF is predominantly localized in the nucleus and cytoplasm, with significant expression levels found in the brain, placenta, and skeletal muscle, highlighting SERGEF′s importance in various physiological processes. SERGEF consists of 458 amino acids and undergoes phosphorylation by Atm or ATR in response to DNA damage, which is critical for cellular stress responses. Additionally, SERGEF has two isoforms resulting from alternative splicing, further diversifying SERGEF′s functional roles in cellular activities.
