Septin 9 Antibody (2C6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects Septin 9 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-Septin 9 antibody (2C6) is available as a non-conjugated format. Septin 9 is a crucial member of the septin family, consisting of cytoskeletal GTPases that play a significant role in various cellular processes. Septin 9 is involved in forming higher-order filamentous structures that serve as dynamic scaffolds for other proteins, influencing cellular architecture and function. Expression is particularly prominent in lymphoid tissues, with 15 different isoforms generated through the combination of five alternate amino termini and three alternate carboxy termini. This diversity allows for a range of functional roles within the cell, but alterations in isoform expression levels can lead to disruptions in cellular behavior, potentially contributing to conditions such as neoplasia. Septin 9 has been found to be upregulated in ovarian tumors and is associated with hereditary neuralgic amyotrophy, a recurrent neuropathy affecting the brachial plexus. Septin 9′s ability to interact with various proteins underscores its importance in cellular signaling and structural integrity, making anti-Septin 9 antibody (2C6) a valuable tool for researchers studying its role in health and disease.
