Septin 10 Antibody (C-1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects Septin 10 in human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Septin 10 is a 517-residue polypeptide that plays a crucial role in cellular processes, particularly in cytokinesis, where Septin 10 contributes to proper cell division during mitosis. Septin 10 is predominantly localized in the cytoplasm and nucleus, which is significant as this localization is essential for organizing the cytoskeleton and facilitating contractile ring formation during cell division. Septin 10 expression is ubiquitous, with highest levels found in placenta, lung, kidney, heart, skeletal muscles, liver, and various tumor cell lines, indicating importance in both normal physiology and disease states. Upon maturation induced by lipopolysaccharide, dendritic cells exhibit increased Septin 10 expression, highlighting potential roles in immune responses. Septin 10 shares homology with other septin family members, such as Septin 6 and Septin 8, and exhibits GTP-binding and GTPase activity, further underscoring functional relevance in cellular dynamics.
