QUICK LINKS

Securinine is an alkaloid naturally occurring in the Securinega plant genus. The most widely studied of these alkaloids, Securinine, is a specific GABA receptor antagonist. In vitro studies have been undertaken to assess its impact on cell cultures. Although the precise mechanism of action of securinine remains incompletely understood, it is believed to exert its effects through the inhibition of enzymes involved in cell proliferation and differentiation.
