    SEE ALSO...

Se42 Antibody (C-10) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Se42 protein of S. equi origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-Se42 antibody (C-10) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Se42 protein plays a crucial role in the pathogenesis of Streptococcus equi subspecies equi (S. equi), an equine pathogen responsible for the highly contagious disease known as strangles. Se42 protein is involved in the bacterium′s ability to evade the host′s immune response, allowing for persistent infection and transmission among horses. Understanding Se42 protein function is vital for developing effective treatments and vaccines against strangles, as this research may provide insights into the mechanisms of bacterial virulence and host-pathogen interactions. S. equi infection primarily spreads through inhalation or direct contact with mucopurulent discharge from infected animals, leading to symptoms such as fever, depression, and significant lymph node enlargement, which can result in respiratory distress. Using Se42 (C-10) monoclonal antibody in various applications helps researchers investigate Se42 protein′s role in S. equi infections and contribute to the advancement of equine health.
