SCYL1 Antibody (KA.72) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects SCYL1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB) and immunoprecipitation (IP). SCYL1 (KA.72) antibody is available as a non-conjugated anti-SCYL1 antibody. SCYL1, also known as SCY1-like protein 1, NTKL (N-terminal kinase-like protein), CVAK90 (coated vesicle-associated kinase of 90 kDa), GKLP, TAPK, TEIF, or TRAP (telomerase regulation-associated protein), consists of 808 amino acids and is a member of the protein kinase superfamily. SCYL1 contains three heat domains and one protein kinase domain, which is believed to be catalytically inactive. SCYL1 plays a crucial role in regulating COPI-mediated trafficking, a process essential for maintaining cellular homeostasis and intracellular transport. SCYL1 interacts with several key proteins, including COPA, COPB1, COPB2, AP2B1, and GORAB, which are integral to vesicle formation and transport. SCYL1 undergoes alternative splicing to produce six isoforms, with Isoform 6 localizing to the nucleus where SCYL1 functions as a transcriptional activator, binding to three GC-rich sites in the region of the beta-polymerase and TERT promoter. Isoforms 1, 2, and 3 are primarily found in the cytoplasm. SCYL1 is encoded on human chromosome 11, highlighting SCYL1′s significance in various cellular processes.
