SEE ALSO...

SCUBE2 Antibody (G-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects SCUBE2 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). SCUBE2 Antibody (G-4) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. SCUBE2, also known as signal peptide, CUB domain, EGF-like 2, CEGP1, Cegb1, or Cegf1, is a 999 amino acid protein widely expressed across adult tissues and belongs to the evolutionarily conserved SCUBE protein family. SCUBE2 features a CUB domain and nine EGF-like domains, and when overexpressed, acts as a secreted surface-anchored glycoprotein, playing a crucial role as a novel component of the Hedgehog signaling pathway. The Hedgehog signal is essential for the induction of ventral neuronal and muscle cell types during vertebrate development, highlighting SCUBE2′s importance in developmental biology. SCUBE2 has been implicated in breast cancer progression, suggesting potential use as a prognostic marker. SCUBE2 forms homo-oligomers and hetero-oligomers with other SCUBE family members, specifically SCUBE1 and SCUBE3. A gene located on human chromosome 11, which contains over 1,400 genes and represents nearly 4% of the human genome, encodes SCUBE2, expressing three isoforms through alternative splicing events.
