SCMH1 Antibody (7-RY14) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects SCMH1 of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-SCMH1 antibody (7-RY14) is available as non-conjugated. SCMH1, also known as sex comb on midleg homolog 1 or Scml3, plays a crucial role in gene expression regulation through involvement in polycomb group (PcG) proteins, which maintain transcriptionally repressed states of target genes via chromatin modification. SCMH1 is predominantly expressed in testis, where SCMH1 facilitates germ cell maturation and contributes to male reproductive processes. SCMH1 undergoes alternative splicing, resulting in multiple isoforms that may have distinct functions or regulatory roles. SCMH1 is located on human chromosome 1, a significant genomic region spanning 260 million base pairs and containing over 3,000 genes, including many associated with familial adenomatous polyposis and Parkinson′s disease. Chromosome 1 integrity is vital, as aberrations in this region are implicated in several cancers, including head and neck cancer and malignant melanoma, highlighting SCMH1′s importance in both normal physiology and disease states.
