sc-514 is a selective and reversible inhibitor of IKKbeta (IKK-2) (IC50 = 3-12 muM) that displays >10-fold selectivity over 28 other kinases, including JNK, p38, MK2, and ERK. This compound attenuates NF-kappaB-induced gene expression of IL-6, IL-8 and Cox-2 (IC50 = 20, 20, and 8 muM, respectively). Improper activation of NF-kappaB has been linked to cancer, immune and inflammatory diseases, and viral infection.
