SBDS Antibody (D-6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b antibody that detects SBDS in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). SBDS, a 249 amino acid protein belonging to the UPF0023 family, plays a crucial role in RNA metabolism, which is essential for maintaining cellular function and gene expression. SBDS is characterized by distinct structural domains: a C-terminal domain with a ferredoxin-like fold homologous to known RNA-binding domains, a central domain featuring a three-helical bundle, and an N-terminal domain that exhibits a three-dimensional α/β fold, which is frequently targeted by disease-linked mutations. These mutations in the SBDS gene are responsible for Shwachman-Diamond syndrome (SDS), an autosomal recessive disorder that leads to significant hematologic dysfunction, skeletal abnormalities, and pancreatic exocrine insufficiency. Individuals with SDS face an increased risk of developing leukemia and myelodysplasia, affecting nearly one-third of those diagnosed. SBDS Antibody (D-6) serves as a valuable tool for researchers studying SBDS implications in disease and cellular processes.
