SEE ALSO...

SARS NC Antibody (3861) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects SARS nucleocapsid protein (SARS NC) of SARS coronavirus by western blotting (WB) and immunofluorescence (IF). SARS NC plays a crucial role in the viral life cycle, primarily by facilitating the packaging of the viral RNA genome into new virions, which is essential for virus propagation. SARS NC (3861) antibody targets a protein located in the cytoplasm of infected cells, where SARS NC interacts with viral RNA and other structural proteins to form the nucleocapsid, a critical component for viral assembly and stability. SARS NC binding to RNA not only aids in the encapsidation process but also influences the host′s immune response, making SARS NC a significant target for therapeutic interventions and vaccine development. SARS NC has been shown to modulate host cell signaling pathways, particularly enhancing the binding of transcription factors to promoter sequences of c-Fos, ATF2, CREB-1, and FosB, which are integral to the AP-1 signaling pathway. This selective activation suggests SARS NC could be a pivotal factor in understanding SARS coronavirus pathogenesis and developing effective treatments.
