Sarafloxacin, referred to as saraflox, is a member of the phenylquinoline class of organic compounds. Phenylquinolines are characterized by a quinoline structure with a phenyl group substitution. Sarafloxacin is known for its limited solubility in water and is considered a relatively neutral molecule. Once inside the cell, sarafloxacin predominantly localizes within the cytoplasm.
