(S)-(+)-2-[2-(Diphenylphosphino)phenyl]-4-phenyl-2-oxazoline, known as (S)-DPPO, is a chiral phosphine ligand widely used in asymmetric synthesis, catalytic hydrogenation, and transfer hydrogenation reactions. It is useful for the synthesis of chiral compounds, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, and other complex molecules. The mechanism of action of (S)-(+)-2-[2-(Diphenylphosphino)phenyl]-4-phenyl-2-oxazoline is based on the coordination of the ligand to a metal center, such as rhodium or palladium.
