Rubella Virus gpE1 Antibody (5D11) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects the E1 glycoprotein of Rubella Virus origin by western blotting (WB), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Rubella Virus gpE1 (5D11) antibody is available in a non-conjugated form, specifically designed for researchers studying the Rubella Virus, which is responsible for the disease known as Rubella, or German measles. This virus is primarily transmitted through respiratory droplets, and its symptoms can be so mild that they often go unnoticed, complicating diagnosis and control efforts. The E1 glycoprotein plays a crucial role in the virus′s ability to infect host cells, as E1 is involved in the fusion of the viral envelope with the host cell membrane, a critical step for viral entry and subsequent replication. Understanding the structure and function of E1 is vital for developing effective vaccines and therapeutic strategies against Rubella Virus. E1 exists in various forms, including disulfide-bonded dimers and heterodimers, which are essential for functionality and interaction with host cell receptors. The presence of specific epitopes within E1, such as those responsible for hemagglutination and virus neutralization, further underscores E1′s importance in the immune response to Rubella Virus.
