RIZ Antibody (33AT1045) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects RIZ protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB) and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-RIZ antibody (33AT1045) is available as a non-conjugated format. RIZ protein, encoded by the Rb-interacting zinc finger gene RIZ1, plays a crucial role in regulating cell growth and apoptosis, making RIZ1 a significant player in cancer biology. Located on chromosome 1p36, a region frequently altered in various human tumors, RIZ1 is often mutated in colorectal, gastric, and endometrial cancers. RIZ protein functions as a candidate tumor suppressor, with RIZ1′s ability to induce cell cycle arrest and apoptosis being vital for maintaining cellular homeostasis. RIZ exists in two isoforms: PR-plus RIZ1, which is typically lost or underexpressed in cancer cells, and PR-minus RIZ2, which remains present. The imbalance between these two isoforms may contribute to tumorigenesis, highlighting RIZ′s importance in cancer research and therapy.
