Rif1 Antibody (B-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgM kappa antibody that detects Rif1 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-Rif1 antibody (B-3) is available as the non-conjugated form. Rif1, or Rap1-interacting factor 1, is a crucial 2,472 amino acid protein that plays a significant role in cellular response to DNA damage. Rif1 is predominantly expressed in testis and shows increased expression during late G2/S phase of cell cycle. Notably, Rif1 is localized to midzone microtubules during anaphase and to condensed chromosomes during telophase, where Rif1 is essential for mediating DNA-damage-induced cell cycle arrest during S phase. While yeast homolog of Rif1 is involved in telomere maintenance and capping, human Rif1 diverges in function, contributing instead to a broader DNA damage response pathway. Rif1 is believed to regulate transcription of telomere-related genes and facilitate resolution of twisted chromosomes through action of topoisomerase II. Additionally, two isoforms of Rif1 arise from alternative splicing, which may further diversify functional roles in cellular processes.
