Ribosomal Protein S10 Antibody (A-10) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Ribosomal Protein S10 (RPS10) of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-RPS10 antibody (A-10) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. RPS10 is a crucial 165 amino acid component of the small ribosomal 40S subunit, playing a vital role in the assembly and function of ribosomes, which are essential for protein synthesis in all living cells. RPS10 is primarily located in the cytoplasm but can also localize to the granular component of the nucleolus, a process that requires methylation by protein arginine methyltransferase 5 (PRMT5) and interaction with nucleolar protein 1 (NPS1). This localization is significant as it suggests a regulatory role for RPS10 in ribosome biogenesis and cellular stress responses. Defects in RPS10 are associated with Diamond-Blackfan anemia type 9 (DBA9), a serious congenital condition characterized by non-regenerative hypoplastic anemia, which typically manifests in infancy and is marked by macrocytic anemia, erythroblastopenia, and an increased risk of malignancy. RPS10 monoclonal antibody (A-10) is an invaluable tool for researchers studying ribosome function, protein synthesis, and related hematological disorders.
