Ribosomal Protein L23a Antibody (3E11) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects Ribosomal Protein L23a (RPL23a) of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-RPL23a antibody (3E11) is available as the non-conjugated format. RPL23a, also known as MDA20, is a crucial component of the 60S ribosomal subunit, consisting of 156 amino acids, and is predominantly expressed in tissues such as the heart, pancreas, and skeletal muscle. RPL23a (3E11) monoclonal antibody plays a significant role in studying the assembly and function of ribosomes, which are essential for protein synthesis in all living cells. RPL23a is involved in mediating growth inhibition and may act as a target for interferons, which are critical for the immune response. Cytoplasmic localization of RPL23a is vital for facilitating the translation of mRNA into proteins, a process fundamental for cellular function and growth. Additionally, RPL23a is associated with multiple processed pseudogenes scattered throughout the genome, reflecting its evolutionary history and the complexity of ribosomal protein gene regulation.

I am using Ribosomal Protein L23a (3E11): sc-517097 for immunofluorescence, what dilution of this antibody should I use?

Asked by: TinTin
Thank you for your question. We recommend a starting dilution of 1:50. However, optimal antibody concentration should be determined by titration. Please find our full immunofluorescence protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunofluorescence-cell-staining

Rated 4 out of 5 by from an antibody working for WB and IFThis antibody recognizes a band of predicted molecular weight (1:500 dilution, 30 ug HeLa total extract), although the signal intensity is somewhat low. It also appears to work for IF (1:200 dilution, formaldehyde-fixed cells). One would expect a higher fluorescent signal if the antibody is diluted less.
