RHOD 2/AM is a membrane permeable form of RHOD 2 which operates in the visible spectrum. Used as a fluorescent probe for intracellular Ca2+. RHOD 2/AM binds to Ca2+ once it is hydrolyzed to RHOD 2 by endogenous esterases inside cells. RHOD-2/AM has applications in electrophysiology where it serves as useful for measuring the electrical activity of neurons and investigating the impact of drugs on neuronal function. Moreover, it has proven useful in drug discovery processes, enabling the detection of drug-protein interactions and facilitating the study of drug mechanisms of action.
