Resistomycin may act to demonstrate antibacterial activity against gram-positive and mycobacteria. It has also been shown to inhibit RNA polymerase. Additionally, resistomycin induces apoptosis. It demonstrates potent antioxidant properties and influences apoptosis regulation, making it potentially cytotoxic to cancer cells. Moreover, it exhibits activity against HIV-1 protease.
