Repaglinide-ethyl-d5 is involved in the regulation of glucose metabolism by binding to specific receptors on the surface of pancreatic beta cells. This binding triggers a series of intracellular events that result in the exocytosis of insulin-containing vesicles, leading to an increase in insulin secretion. This increase in insulin levels helps to lower blood glucose levels by promoting the uptake and utilization of glucose by peripheral tissues. Repaglinide-ethyl-d5 inhibits the release of glucagon, a hormone that opposes the action of insulin and promotes the release of glucose from the liver.
