    SEE ALSO...

RASSF8 Antibody (4B1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects RASSF8 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-RASSF8 antibody (4B1) is available as the non-conjugated format. RASSF8, also known as HoJ-1, is a member of the Ras association (RalGDS/AF-6 or RA) domain family and plays a crucial role in the Ras signaling pathway, which is vital for regulating cell growth and differentiation. RASSF8 is primarily located in the cytoplasm and has been shown to translocate to the nucleus under certain conditions, highlighting a potential role in cellular signaling and tumor suppression. RASSF8 has been implicated in lung cancer, where ectopic expression can inhibit anchorage-independent growth, suggesting that loss of functional RASSF8 may contribute to tumorigenesis. Additionally, a reciprocal chromosomal translocation involving RASSF8 and Fibulin-1 has been associated with synpolydactyly, a condition characterized by the presence of extra digits and webbing of fingers and toes, further emphasizing RASSF8′s importance in developmental processes.

Can sc-81934: RASSF8 (4B1) monoclonal antibody be used to stain formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue sections?

    Asked by: Dr Ninau Qelp
Thank you for your question. Yes, sc-81934: RASSF8 (4B1) is recommended for use in IHC with paraffin-embedded sections. We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
