SEE ALSO...

Rad51 Antibody (51RAD01) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody engineered to detect Rad51 protein from mouse, rat, and human origins with exceptional precision in applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP). Anti-Rad51 antibody (51RAD01) is raised against recombinant human Rad51, ensuring robust and specific binding to the target antigen. Rad51, also called Reca and Rad51a, is a pivotal protein involved in the homologous recombination repair (HRR) of DNA double-strand breaks, a critical mechanism for maintaining genomic stability and preventing mutations that can lead to cancerous transformations. Functionally, Rad51 facilitates the search for homologous DNA sequences and strand invasion necessary for accurate DNA repair by forming nucleoprotein filaments on DNA, which are essential for these processes. Rad51 interacts closely with key proteins such as BRCA1 and BRCA2, which are integral to the DNA damage response and tumor suppression pathways. The interaction between Rad51 and BRCA2, in particular, is crucial for recruitment and stabilization of Rad51 at sites of DNA damage, enhancing the cell′s ability to repair double-strand breaks effectively. This interaction is vital for preventing genomic instability, a hallmark of many cancers, making Rad51 an important biomarker and target for cancer research and therapeutic interventions. Additionally, Rad51 collaborates with other members of the Rad52 family, including Rad52, Rad54, and MRE11, to coordinate DNA repair and ensure genetic information fidelity. Rad51 monoclonal antibody (51RAD01) enables researchers to accurately study expression, localization, and function of Rad51 in various biological contexts, providing valuable insights into DNA repair mechanisms, molecular basis of cancer development, and cellular responses to DNA damage. Anti-Rad51 antibody (51RAD01) serves as an essential tool in advanced biomedical research and diagnostics, facilitating exploration of novel cancer treatments and understanding of genomic integrity maintenance.

Can sc-56212: Rad51 (51RAD01) monoclonal antibody be used to stain formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue sections?

Asked by: jenniferc
Thank you for your question. Yes, sc-56212: Rad51 (51RAD01) is recommended for use in IHC with paraffin-embedded sections. We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
