Rac GAP1 Antibody (B-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects Rac GAP1 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-Rac GAP1 antibody (B-7) specifically targets Rac GAP1, also known as MgcRacGAP, ID-GAP, or HsCYK-4, which plays a crucial role in regulating the GTPase activity of Rac1 and Cdc42, two important members of the Ras superfamily of GTP-binding proteins. These proteins are integral to various cellular processes, including growth, vesicle trafficking, and cytoskeletal organization. Rac GAP1 functions as a GTPase-activating protein (GAP), maintaining the balance of active and inactive forms of these GTPases, thereby negatively regulating Ras-mediated signaling pathways. Rac GAP1 is highly expressed in the thymus, placenta, and testis, with lower expression levels found in the spleen and peripheral blood lymphocytes. Structural features include one Rho-GAP domain and a phorbol-ester/DAG-type zinc finger, which are essential for activity and interaction with other proteins. During cytokinesis, Rac GAP1 undergoes phosphorylation at multiple sites, highlighting a dynamic role in cell division and importance in ensuring proper cellular function.
