SEE ALSO...

Rabies Virus Antibody (Rab-50) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b antibody that detects the Rabies Virus protein of Rabies virus origin by western blotting (WB) and immunofluorescence (IF). Anti-Rabies Virus antibody (Rab-50) is available as the non-conjugated form. The Rabies virus, a member of the Rhabdoviridae family, is a single-stranded, neurotropic, negative-sense RNA virus that encodes five proteins, including a glycoprotein and a nucleoprotein, which are crucial for infectivity and pathogenicity. The glycoprotein plays a vital role in virus attachment and host cell entry, facilitating spread within the central nervous system. This interaction enables virus evasion of host immune response and establishment of productive infection. The mature virus exhibits a characteristic bullet shape, with a protein coat enveloped in a lipid membrane, adorned with glycoprotein projections critical for receptor binding. Rabies Virus monoclonal antibody (Rab-50) serves as an invaluable tool for researchers studying rabies virus infection mechanisms and nervous system impact, as well as for developing therapeutic strategies against this deadly virus, which causes approximately 50,000 human deaths annually.
