Rab 7b Antibody (JK-17) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects Rab 7b protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-Rab 7b antibody (JK-17) is available as a non-conjugated format. Rab 7b, a member of the Ras-related superfamily of guanine nucleotide-binding proteins, plays a crucial role in intracellular transport processes, particularly in the endocytic pathway. Rab 7b is essential for transporting newly synthesized proteins from the endoplasmic reticulum to the Golgi apparatus and ultimately to secretory vesicles, a process relying on carrier vesicle movement facilitated by Rab proteins. Rab 7b shares significant homology with Rab 7, another Rab GTPase, underscoring Rab 7b′s importance in regulating vesicular traffic. Rab 7b is predominantly expressed in tissues such as lung, placenta, skeletal muscle, heart, and peripheral blood leukocytes, where Rab 7b influences monocyte functions, including endocytosis and protein antigen presentation. Rab 7b undergoes post-translational modifications, including phosphorylation by protein kinase C and casein kinase II, which are critical for Rab 7b′s function as a Rab GTPase. Rab 7b′s interactions with various proteins involved in these pathways highlight Rab 7b′s significance in cellular transport mechanisms and immune responses.
