Rab 45 Antibody (SJ-12) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects Rab 45 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-Rab 45 antibody (SJ-12) is available as the non-conjugated format. Rab 45, also known as RASEF (RAS and EF-hand domain containing protein), plays a crucial role in intracellular transport processes, particularly in the movement of proteins from the endoplasmic reticulum to the Golgi apparatus and ultimately to secretory vesicles. This transport is vital for maintaining cellular function and homeostasis, as Rab 45 ensures proteins are correctly processed and delivered to their intended destinations. Rab 45 is localized to the perinuclear region of the cytoplasm, where Rab 45 can form homodimers and bind both guanosine diphosphate and guanosine triphosphate, which are essential for vesicle trafficking activity. Notably, Rab 45 expression is down-regulated in cutaneous melanoma cells, indicating a potential role as a tumor suppressor, making Rab 45 an important target for research in cancer biology.

Can sc-81925: Rab 45 (SJ-12) monoclonal antibody be used to stain formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue sections?

Asked by: Germaine
Thank you for your question. Yes, sc-81925: Rab 45 (SJ-12) is recommended for use in IHC with paraffin-embedded sections. We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
