Rab 4/14 Antibody (F-10) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects Rab 4/14 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Rab 4/14 (F-10) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Rab 4/14 protein plays a crucial role in intracellular transport processes, particularly in vesicle movement between endoplasmic reticulum and Golgi apparatus, as well as protein transport to secretory vesicles. Rab 4/14 belongs to the Ras-related superfamily of guanine nucleotide-binding proteins, exhibiting significant homology with Ras p21, and is essential for proper cellular trafficking pathways. Rab proteins facilitate transport of newly synthesized proteins, maintaining cellular homeostasis and ensuring proteins reach correct destinations within cells. Rab proteins regulate exocytosis, as shown by SEC4 protein association in yeast with secretory vesicles, highlighting evolutionary conservation across species. With at least eight identified Rab subfamily members, each localized to specific membrane transport stages, anti-Rab 4/14 antibody (F-10) serves as a valuable tool for studying intracellular transport dynamics and Rab protein functions in cellular processes.

I am using Rab 4/14 (F-10): sc-376243 monoclonal antibody to stain paraffin embedded tissue. Do you recommend antigen retrieval when using this antibody?

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Did not work in human skeletal muscleReceived a sample of Rab4/14 and used in human skeletal muscle tissue, whole cell lysate. This antibody did not perform well in this source. There was some very weak non-specific banding much higher than the indicated target size of 24kDa, but no other signal appeared even close to target. Primary was used at 1:100 overnight and secondary was Santa Cruz anti-mouse, sc-516102 at 1:2000.
