Rab 36 Antibody (379.2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects Rab 36 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-Rab 36 antibody (379.2) is available as a non-conjugated format. Rab 36 is a member of the Ras-related superfamily of guanine nucleotide-binding proteins, which includes various subfamilies such as R-Ras, Rap, Ral/Rec, and Rho/Rab. Rab 36 plays a crucial role in transporting newly synthesized proteins from the endoplasmic reticulum to the Golgi complex and secretory vesicles, a process essential for maintaining cellular function and homeostasis. Proper functioning of Rab proteins is vital for both endocytosis and biosynthetic protein transport, as these proteins facilitate carrier vesicle movement within cells. Rab 36 is ubiquitously expressed and primarily localizes to the Golgi membrane, where Rab 36 actively participates in protein trafficking. The gene encoding Rab 36 is situated in a critical region of chromosome 22, which is frequently deleted or involved in translocations associated with malignant rhabdoid tumors (MRTs), suggesting potential implications in tumorigenesis.
