Rab 27b Antibody (1596CT245.254.49) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Rab 27b protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB) and flow cytometry (FCM). Anti-Rab 27b antibody (1596CT245.254.49) is available as a non-conjugated format. Rab 27b plays a crucial role in regulating vesicular transport, particularly in hormone secretion from the pituitary gland. Rab 27b is essential for proper hormone release, which drives numerous physiological processes, including growth, metabolism, and stress response. Rab family of low molecular weight GTPases, including Rab 27b, cycles between an active GTP-bound state and an inactive GDP-bound state, allowing interaction with specific effector proteins that facilitate vesicle movement and fusion. Rab 27b is predominantly expressed in brain and spleen, with significant involvement in pituitary hormone secretion, highlighting importance in neuroendocrine signaling. Rab 27b may exhibit functional redundancy with Rab 27a, compensating for Rab 27a loss in certain contexts, which is particularly relevant in understanding disorders associated with Rab27a mutations, such as Griscelli syndrome. Rab27b gene is located on chromosome 18q21.1, emphasizing significance in genetic studies related to endocrine function and potential therapeutic targets.
