(R)-(−)-Phenylephrine hydrochloride is a phenylephrine (PE) and an alpha1-adrenoceptor agonist that promotes hypertrophic growth in the ventricular myocytes, and activates several MAPK signaling pathways. (R)-(−)-Phenylephrine hydrochloride is an activator of alpha1A-AR, alpha1D-AR and alpha1B-AR.
