(R)-1-[(SP)-2-(Diphenylphosphino)ferrocenyl]ethyldi-tert-butylphosphine is used as a catalyst in the synthesis of Sitagliptin. It is a chiral ferrocenyl diphosphine ligand. It may be used as a ligand in the palladium-catalyzed alkoxycarbonylation of 6-bromo-1,4-benzodioxane with sodium tert-butoxide to form the corresponding tert-butyl ester.
