QIP1 Antibody (3D10) is a rat monoclonal IgG2a antibody that detects QIP1 protein of mouse, rat, human, hamster, bovine, and monkey origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). QIP1 (3D10) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. QIP1, also known as KPNA4 (karyopherin α4), IPOA3 (importin α3), or SRP3, plays a crucial role in nuclear import by forming a complex with importin β proteins, specifically karyopherin β1, which acts as an adapter. This interaction is vital for the transport of proteins containing nuclear localization signal (NLS) motifs into the nucleus, as karyopherin β1 facilitates the binding of the importin/substrate complex to the nuclear pore complex (NPC). The translocation of this complex through the pore is mediated by a Ran-dependent mechanism, ensuring that essential proteins are accurately delivered to the nucleus for proper cellular function. QIP1 features an IBB domain at its hydrophilic N-terminus, which is essential for binding to karyopherin β1, along with ten ARM repeats in its hydrophobic central region that contribute to structural integrity. QIP1 is highly expressed in various tissues, including the pancreas, lung, ovary, testis, small intestine, heart, and skeletal muscle, where QIP1 exhibits both cytoplasmic and nuclear localization, underscoring importance in cellular transport processes.

Can QIP1 (3D10): sc-101547 monoclonal antibody be used to stain formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue sections?

Asked by: Cweed
Thank you for your question. Yes, QIP1 (3D10): sc-101547 has been validated for use in IHC with paraffin-embedded sections. We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
