Pyrrolidinedithiocarbamic acid (PDTC) ammonium salt, also known as Ammonium pyrrolidine-1-carbodithioate, is a potent inhibitor of NF kappaB (Nuclear Factor kappaB). Experiments show that micromolar amounts of Pyrrolidinedithiocarbamic acid (PDTC) ammonium salt suppress IL-1beta and completely inhibit the increase of nitric oxide synthase mRNA in response to IL-1beta. Further studies suggest that Pyrrolidinedithiocarbamic acid ammonium salt also displays metal-ion chelating and antioxidant characteristics. Pyrrolidinedithiocarbamic acid ammonium salt, a compound with versatility, has the ability to engage with an array of proteins and enzymes. Notably, it interacts with cytochrome P450 enzymes, exerting a regulatory influence on their functionality. It exhibits inhibitory effects on enzymes like cyclooxygenase and lipoxygenase.
