QUICK LINKS

Pyriproxyfen is a larvicidal agent that mimics juvenile hormone and may act to prevent maturation of many insect species. Pyriproxyfen acts as an insect juvenile growth hormone imitator, effectively pausing metamorphosis and larval development. Furthermore, it accumulates within the ovaries of female fleas, resulting in the production of inviable eggs. By combining it with an adulticide such as permethrin or fipronil, all life stages of the parasite are eradicated, significantly reducing the chances of re-infestation.
