Pyridoxal 5′-phosphate is the active form of vitamin B6 and plays a role in various biochemical reactions. It acts as a coenzyme in the metabolism of amino acids, carbohydrates, and lipids. Pyridoxal 5′-phosphate is involved in the synthesis of neurotransmitters such as serotonin, dopamine, and gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA). Pyridoxal 5′-phosphate participates in the regulation of gene expression and the maintenance of normal blood glucose levels.
