PSS1 Antibody (B-5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects PSS1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). PSS1 (B-5) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. PSS1 plays a crucial role in the biosynthesis of phosphatidylserine (PtdSer), a vital anionic phospholipid predominantly found in the inner layer of the plasma membrane. PSS1 functions as a membrane-associated enzyme that catalyzes the calcium-dependent base exchange of serine with existing phospholipid head groups, specifically utilizing phosphatidylcholine as its primary substrate. PSS1′s importance lies in its regulatory function, as PtdSer directly inhibits PSS1, serving as a feedback mechanism to control PtdSer synthesis. This regulation is critical for maintaining cellular homeostasis, particularly in response to stressors such as UV exposure, where cells overexpressing PSS1 exhibit significant resistance to apoptosis. Understanding PSS1′s function and regulation is essential for elucidating its role in cellular signaling and membrane dynamics, making anti-PSS1 antibody (B-5) a valuable tool for researchers studying phospholipid metabolism and related pathways.
