PSMD1 Antibody (C-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects PSMD1 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-PSMD1 antibody (C-7) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. PSMD1, also known as proteasome (prosome, macropain) 26S subunit, non-ATPase 1, or S1/p112, plays a crucial role in selective degradation of cellular proteins, which is vital for maintaining cellular homeostasis and regulating various biological processes. PSMD1 is a key component of the 26S proteasome, a complex responsible for degradation of ubiquitinated proteins, and is primarily located in nucleus and cytoplasm of eukaryotic cells. The 26S proteasome consists of a 20S core particle that houses proteolytic activity and two 19S regulatory particles that facilitate recognition and unfolding of ubiquitinated substrates. PSMD1 is the largest of non-ATPase regulatory subunits of the 19S lid, and PSMD1′s interaction with substrates is essential for proper functioning of the proteasome, influencing processes such as cell cycle regulation, apoptosis, and response to oxidative stress. With widespread expression, particularly in skeletal muscle and heart tissues, PSMD1 is integral to cellular machinery that ensures timely removal of damaged or misfolded proteins, thereby preventing potential cellular dysfunction.
