PSMC6 Antibody (34-Q) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects PSMC6 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-PSMC6 antibody (34-Q) is available as a non-conjugated format. PSMC6, also known as proteasome (prosome, macropain) 26S subunit, ATPase 6, plays a crucial role in selective degradation of cellular proteins, a process vital for maintaining cellular homeostasis and regulating various cellular functions. Located within the 19S regulatory particle of the 26S proteasome, PSMC6 is one of six ATPase subunits that facilitate unfolding and translocation of ubiquitinated substrates into the proteolytic core of the proteasome. This regulatory component contains a leucine zipper motif and an AAA (ATPase associated with diverse cellular activities) domain, which are essential for function in protein degradation. Proper functioning of PSMC6 ensures damaged or misfolded proteins are efficiently removed from cells, thereby preventing potential cellular stress and maintaining overall protein quality control.
