QUICK LINKS

PS 48 is a PKB Kinase (phosphoinositide-dependent protein kinase-1, PDK1) activator (Kd = 10.3 muM). Studies have indicated that PS 48 selectively binds to the PIF-binding pocket of PKB Kinase (PDK1), which is a distinct region separate from the ATP binding site. PS 48 can modulate the activity of several enzymes, including cyclooxygenase-2, phospholipase A2, and nitric oxide synthase, as well as multiple transcription factors, such as NF-κB, AP-1, and STAT3. Studies have reported anti-inflammatory, anti-apoptotic, anti-oxidative, and anti-cancer properties of PS 48.
