QUICK LINKS

Propetamphos is a synthetic yellow oily liquid used as an insecticide. It belongs to the group of organophosphate compounds and acts as an acetylcholinesterase inhibitor. This non-corrosive substance inhibits the activity of the enzyme responsible for breaking down acetylcholine. Exposure to propetamphos can occur through inhalation, ingestion, or contact with the skin. Another name for propetamphos is phosphoramidate ester, and it is derived from an isopropyl 3-hydroxybut-2-enoate.
